Trolls have split into six different tribes that celebrate different genres of music. Rock troll Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom) wants to unite them all by taking their mystical musical strings.

Poppy and Branch must travel to the other kingdoms to recover their strings in Trolls World Tour. The DreamWorks Animation sequel features returning stars like Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, plus newcomers including Kid Cudi as Clay, the former member of BroZone.

Poppy (Anna Kendrick)

Queen Poppy and her naive best friend Branch discover that their world is much bigger (and louder) than they ever imagined. They encounter six distinct Troll tribes, each dedicated to a different type of music.

Rachel Bloom head-bangs her way into the fold as Queen Barb, a member of hard-rock royalty who wants to upstage all other Trolls. She and her father King Thrash, voiced by Ozzy Osbourne, want to destroy all other genres of music so rock can reign supreme. Mary J. Blige and Anderson.Paak represent Funk, Kelly Clarkson croons Country, J Balvin brings Reggaeton and Ester Dean covers Pop.

Branch (Justin Timberlake)

Justin Timberlake voices grumpy survivalist Troll Branch, who joins the other trolls to fight back against Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), who wants to snatch music from their other kingdoms—Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, and Pop. Mary J Blige and George Clinton add smoky funk, while Sam Rockwell and Kelly Clarkson bring country, Anderson.Paak and Ester Dean represent the Pop tribe, and J Balvin and Walt Dohrn cover classical.

Kid Cudi plays Clay, a member of the BroZone, an elite boy band from the Pop Troll tribe. The movie marks his first voice work since the boy band *NSYNC disbanded.

Viva (Camila Cabello)

The jukebox musical franchise is back in 2020’s Trolls World Tour, and the follow-up has a star-studded cast including RuPaul and Camila Cabello. The Drag Race icon and Havana singer join returning stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, as well as newcomers Daveed Diggs, Zosia Mamet, Kunal Nayyar, Amy Schumer and Eric Andre.

Viva is Poppy’s fun-loving, confident younger sister who takes her social skills to the next level. She’s also a talented hairdresser who can braid a person’s hair in the blink of an eye.

Crimp (Zosia Mamet)

Crimp is an assistant to Velvet and Veneer who betrays them. She has a purple body and is made of orange construction paper, which proved to be one of the more difficult characters to animate for the film. Mamet is known for her roles in The Intern and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Although Trolls World Tour hits some classic sequel potholes, it’s still fun and lively, with kaleidoscopic visuals. Plus, the voice cast includes plenty of prestige pop stars. Kenan Thompson again shines as wisecracking infant Tiny Diamond, too.

Bridget (Zoey Deschanel)

Former maid Bridget is now the queen of Bergen. She and King Gristle Jr. wed at the start of the animation movie with Miss Maxine officiating.

New Girl alum Camila Cabello voices Viva, the queen’s long lost sister in this sequel. She’s also known for starring in 500 Days of Summer, The Happening and Elf. Anderson Paak voices D, a twin and member of the Funk tribe. He’s also starred in Hamilton on Broadway and Black-ish. Sam Rockwell plays Hickory, a yodeling Troll who loves country music.

Floyd (John Dory)

Viva’s second oldest brother, he is always up to some mischief and would probably love to dance in his puffer vest. He tracks down his brothers to help them find Floyd and reunite BroZone.

The Trolls are back in an all-new movie adventure that’s bigger and louder than ever before! Poppy and Branch discover that their world is only one of six different Troll tribes, each devoted to a different genre of music. Now it’s up to them to unite their sounds before the Bergens silence them forever.

Clay (Kid Cudi)

After a hiatus during the pandemic, Kid Cudi reprises his role as Clay in Trolls World Tour. The second oldest of Branch’s brothers, he is a former member of the elite boy band BroZone.

The film’s trolls traverse from one wild locale to the next — the techno kingdom is rocked by Trollex, the classical-music trolls are visited by a yodeling centaur (Sam Rockwell), and Vibe City is brought to life by funk-loving trolls and a sax-playing Mr Dinkles. Trolls World Tour is not a great movie, but it is not bad either. It’s a good animated trip that should entertain kids and adults alike.

King Peppy (Jeff Tambor)

The former King of the Pop Trolls and Poppy’s father, Peppy leads a tribe whose members sing and dance to pulsing electronic music. He tries to convince the other trolls that they should embrace their differences and enjoy music from different genres.

The McElroy brothers (of podcast The X Files and Super Show!) voice the brothers of BroZone, a boy band that specializes in saxophone music. Also, Jamie Dornan brings the beat with Techno, and world-renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel and singer Charlyne Yi represent the land of Classical.

Veneer (Chris Pine)

The fuzzy son of King Quincy and Queen Essence, Cooper is a fun-loving member of the Funk Trolls. He’s voiced by the award-winning musician Anderson Paak.

Trolls World Tour gets psychedelic with the addition of new characters and worlds. Kelly Clarkson voices Delta Dawn, leader of the Country Trolls. Sam Rockwell plays Hickory, a yodeling Troll. Glittery silver Pop Troll Guy Diamond is brought to life by Keenan Thompson, who starred on the long-running cast of Saturday Night Live. He has an auto-tuned voice and is full of himself, but he’s still the life of the party.

Trickee (Chris Kirkpatrick)

After a successful reunion with *In 2018, Kirkpatrick has been busy with projects including the Masked Singer and Celebrity Big Brother. He voices Gomdori, the second in command of Wani’s K-Pop tribe.

The film features one of the most impressive rosters of musical talent to ever appear in an animated movie. Mary J. Blige and George Clinton represent Funk, Anderson Paak and Kelly Clarkson bring Country, and Ester Dean and Anthony Ramos represent Techno. Jamie Dornan brings smooth jazz as Chaz. The marking custom animation for the film was provided by Minimo VFX and Jellyfish Pictures.
